THE CALL is out for local businesses to throw their support behind Ray White Surfers Paradise’s annual Muscular Dystrophy Ball and donate auction items to help raise much needed funds for the cause.
The event is now in its 21st year and in that time has already raised close to $3 million towards muscular dystrophy research and support for sufferers.
It will take place at the Sheraton Mirage Resort and Spa on September 20 and the Bells hold high hopes that local businesses will come to the table once again.

“Year after year corporate sponsors and local businesses dig deep to support this very worthy cause,” Andrew Bell said.
“Whether it’s a product, service or voucher for our charity auction – big or small – it all adds up.”
Muscular dystrophy is a genetic neuromuscular disorder which occurs in a range of different forms and progressively deteriorates muscle strength and function. It has the potential to affect people of all ages but the most aggressive forms have their onset from birth to early childhood, shortening their life expectancy to early adulthood.
A cure for Muscular Dystrophy will have far reaching benefits, as it will identify a process to prevent the defective gene from being passed on from mother to child.
