AUSTRALIA’S claimed its third medal at the Sochi Winter Olympics.
Victorian substitute teacher and coach David Morris picked up a silver medal in the men’s aerials overnight to become the first Australian man to win a medal in the event.
News Limited reports, the 29-year-old, who qualified second into the finals, impressively landed his three jumps while some of his main rivals faltered.

“We dream about it but the field that was here today is an incredible field,” he told Network Ten.
“You saw the quality of the jumps and some of these guys just got quite unlucky.”
The event was won by Belarus star Anton Kushnir.
Morris becomes Australia’s tenth Winter Olympic medallist and third of the Sochi Games after the silver to Torah Bright in the halfpipe and the bronze to Lydia Lassila in the aerials.
