Aussie band Thirsty Merc cancel show after crew member killed in car crash

Australian band Thirsty Merc have been involved in a horrifying car crash.

The pop rock band cancelled their Geelong gig due to take place tonight, as they mourn the death of their stage manager who was killed when their van struck another car in western Victoria on Tuesday afternoon.

Drummer Mick Skelton was also injured in the crash and had to be airlifted to The Alfred hospital where he remains in intensive care.


Skeleton was the only passenger in the van, with lead singer Rai Thistlethwayte, bass player Phil Stack and guitarist Matt Smith believed to have been travelling in another car.

Thirsty Merc are touring Australia for their new album Shifting Gears.
