The snazzy Speedo swimwear was unveiled in front of swimming fans at the Queensland Swimming Championships at the Brisbane Aquatic Centre at the weekend.

They were accompanied by Aussie divers and 2014 Commonwealth Games medalists Maddison Keeney and Domonic Bedggood along with up and coming swim stars Clyde Lewis and Minna Atherton, who showed off the Australian Commonwealth Games team diving and training swimwear.

Head of Design at Speedo Pacific, Tahnee McIlwraith, said the company wanted to create a swimwear range that the athletes could wear with pride.

“With the 2018 Games being hosted on the beautiful Gold Coast we wanted to do something particularly striking for the team,” Ms McIlwraith said.

“Whilst Green and Gold can be tricky colours to work with when designing swimwear, this range is influenced by Speedo’s striking Implode print, the high definition digital print of a solar burst.

“Working through a gradient of green and yellow it reaches an intense white center which represents the strength of the Australian sun and the refraction of sunlight through water. Throughout the design process the top objective is to ensure our athletes look good and feel good whilst proudly showcasing our countries colours on home soil.”

Australians will also be able to swim in the exclusive Aussie colours as Speedo release a limited edition Replica range of team swimwear, which will be available from February at selected retailers and online.

The Commonwealth Games will take place on the Gold Coast between 4 – 15 April, 2018.
