Aussie drug smuggler sentenced to life in Vietnam prison

An Australian man will spend the rest of his life behind bars, after being sentenced for drug trafficking in Vietnam.

Nathan Andrew James, 34, was busted at Ho Chi Minh City’s Tan Son Nhat International Airport in October 2013, trying to smuggle 3.5 kilograms of heroin to Australia.

James escaped a possible death sentence, with the court reportedly taking into account the fact he is intellectually impaired.
