Aussie man sprung in US pedophile sting
A Melbourne man faces life in a US prison after being nabbed in raids at a Los Angeles hotel.
It’s alleged Michael John Quinn, 33, travelled to the US to “meet up with a dad who shares his young ones”.
Police say they caught Quinn red-handed when he arrived at the LA hotel on Saturday afternoon.
It’s alleged he was expecting to meet with three fellow child predators for a party which would involve sex with boys provided by the sex trafficker at a cost of $US250.
But, those waiting for him were actually undercover members of the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations unit.
They had established communication with Quinn earlier this month through a social networking website for pedophiles.
Quinn is now in custody charged with attempted sex trafficking of a minor. He could be sentenced to between 15 years and life without parole.
