Aussie women win T20 cricket final

THE AUSTRALIAN women’s Twenty-20 team has managed to far outplay our men at the World Cup in Bangladesh.

They have claimed their third-straight World T20 title after hammering England in the final in Dhaka.

Fox Sports reports, dual-international Ellyse Perry hit the winning runs for the Southern Stars overnight, reaching the target of 106 with almost five overs to spare.

While captain Meg Lanning smashed 44 off 30 balls.

“We came over here with a great side and I think we played close to the perfect match today,” Lanning said.

“We bowled first so we needed to bowl well. It was definitely our bowlers that set it up today.”
