FIVE Seconds of Summer have picked up a gong at the American Music Awards.
Accepting the fan-voted New Artist of the Year award, they gave a shout-out to their home town.
Fellow Aussie, rapper Iggy Azalea, won awards for best rap/hip-hop album then Best Rap/Hip-Hop Artist, ahead of veteran Eminem and Canadian rapper Drake.

The girl from Mullumbimby also took to the stage to perform her song Fancy, with dancers dressed as paparazzi gyrating around her holding cameras aloft.
