Australia gives green light to medical cannabis

AUSTRALIA has announced it is in the process of legalising the growing and distribution of medical marijuana.

Health Minister Sussan Ley confirmed the Federal Government was finalising draft amendments to the Narcotics Drugs Act 1967 to allow controlled cultivation of the drug for medicinal and scientific purposes.

She said it was possible a medicinal cannabis industry could flourish in Australia.
