Australia looks set to claim first Ashes Test at the Gabba on Monday morning

AUSTRALIA will need to make just 56 runs on Monday to take a 1-0 lead in the Ashes after grinding England into submission on day four of the first Test at the Gabba in Brisbane.

Cameron Bancroft (51 from 118 balls) and David Warner (60 from 86 balls) took the game away from England with a superb 114-run partnership on Sunday, guiding Australia through to 0/114 at stumps in pursuit of 170.

Victory is expected to be claimed before midday on Monday.
