Australia reclaim Ashes

Australia has battered England into submission beating them by an innings and 41 runs to reclaim the Ashes in Perth.

Josh Hazlewood starred with the ball during the rain-affected fifth day of the Test, finishing with five wickets in the second innings.

Australia now has an unassailable 3- nil lead in the five-match series.

Earlier Skipper Steve Smith scored a remarkable 239.

Smith told the ABC he couldn’t have been prouder of the Australian performance so far and conceded emotion got the better of him when the final English wicket was taken.

“I was crying in the sheds just a minute ago,” he said.

“Everything just sort of came out, we’ve worked incredibly hard. It’s been a great couple of weeks, I’m really proud of everyone back in that room.”

The series now moves to Melbourne for the Boxing Day Test where England will be desperate to bounce back and restore some pride.
