Australia will take 12 Thousand Refugees

Australia will offer a permanent home to an additional 12,000 refugees from Syria and Iraq while expanding military action in the region.

It’ll also provide $44 million to refugee agencies, including the United Nations, to help support 240,000 people stranded in camps outside their home countries.

Australian immigration officials will work with the UN to identify those to be resettled, with the focus on women, children and families from persecuted minorities.
