Australian Athletes fined for being late to Comm Games
RISING Australian athlete Alex Rowe has had his funding cut by a third after arriving late to the pre-Commonwealth Games camp.
Rowe decided to race in Monte Carlo where he equalled the longstanding 800m national record.
A similar fate could also befall Olympic 100-metre hurdles champion Sally Pearson.
The Gold Coaster is in London at the moment for the Anniversary Games, missing the entire camp.
Athletics Australia says the camp is a necessary measure to ensure equality for all 99 athletes in the Games squad.
