Australian killed in Papua New Guinea plane crash

UPDATE: THE Department of Foreign Affairs has confirmed an Australian was among three people killed when a light plane crashed near Port Moreseby in Papua New Guinea this morning.

EARLIER: A PLANE has crashed in Papua New Guinea, reportedly killing up to four people, including an Australian pilot.

Early reports suggest the “Hevilift” plane, believed to be a Twin Otter, went down near Port Moresby on Saturday morning.


It’s understood the impact killed two pilots – one of which is thought to an Australian – and two passengers.

There are conflicting reports indicating as many as eight people could have been on board.
