Australian Red Cross desperately appeal for O- blood donations

The Australian Red Cross Blood service is urgently appealing for O- blood donations.

In the appeal posted to their website, the Red Cross says that O- is a universal blood type and that donations are desperately needed at this time of year to help patients in need.

It’s believed the shortage of blood is due to people being struck down by the flu, therefore making them unable to donate.

You can book an appointment by phoning the Australian Red Cross Blood Service on 13 14 95 or can visit donateblood.com.au.
