Australian sprint sensation does it again

JACK Hale has taken out the boys U18s 100m final at the Australian All Schools Athletics Championships in Melbourne just moments ago.

The 17-year-old Tasmanian made light work of the race cruising to victory in 10.56 seconds with a slight 0.1m/s tailwind.

Hale was looking toward bettering his current national age record of 10.42 seconds and was on track to do so when he posted a heat time of 10.62.

New South Wales’ Anthony Gale came away with second in 10.76 seconds whilst Queenslander Callum McCarthy rounded out the top-three standings.

West Australian and Commonwealth Youth Games representative Lachlan McDermott and Queenslander Darcy Roper also performed in the final, however, were unable to match their heat times coming in at 6th and 8th respectively.
