Australian umpire struck in head by cricket ball

An Australian umpire has been struck in the head by a cricket ball while officiating a domestic match in India.

John Ward has miraculously escaped serious injury after he was hit in the head by a powerful shot from Punjab’s Brainder Sran on the opening day of the Ranji Trophy clash against Tamil Nadu in Dindigul.

Ward is alleged to have fallen straight to the ground, however managed to stand up and walk to the ambulance.
