Calling all Gold Coast tea lovers! It’s time to get your china out and put the cupcakes in the oven to help raise much needed funds for cancer research!

Cancer Council Queensland today officially launched their 2018 Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea campaign at RACV Royal Pines Resort’s Videre Restaurant.

This year, Cancer Council Queensland is celebrating 25 years of the fundraiser across the state, so to mark the occasion, Videre’s pastry chefs presented a giant 25 cake and other themed goodies at the launch.

While the official day to host a morning tea is Thursday, May 24, Cancer Council Queensland’s Community Fundraising Coordinator for the Gold Coast, Jade Horrigan, said locals can host one anytime throughout April, May or June.

“We rely heavily on our fundraisers to help provide the money needed for vital research, our prevention campaigns and also our support services,” she said.

“This year for the Gold Coast area, we are hoping to raise over $250,000, and for Queensland we are hoping to reach $2.2 million.”
