Victoria recorded a further three cases overnight, taking the total number of infections to 1,354. 1,278 people have recovered.

Eighteen people are being treated for the virus in hospital, with nine in intensive care.

The state government has announced plans to open 12 mobile testing sites by Sunday. Four of those sites opened this morning in Chadstone, Highpoint, Doncaster and Northland shopping centres.

Victorian authorities have warned against loosening restrictions across the state too soon, saying the earliest it will happen will be May 11 when a state of emergency comes to an end.
