Australia’s COVID-19 death toll rises to 77

Australia’s death toll has risen again this morning, with Tasmania confirming another death.

A 79-year-old woman passed away in the state’s north west overnight.

It brings the state’s toll to nine deaths. While the national toll now sits at 77.

Premier Peter Gutwein confirmed the latest figures this morning, also saying that there have been no new cases of the virus recorded overnight.

It follows the death of another 79-year-old woman in New South Wales yesterday.
