Australia’s COVID-19 death toll rises to 84

Australia’s coronavirus death toll has risen again this morning, with New South Wales recording another death.

A 89-year-old woman has passed away, bringing the national toll to 84.

She was a resident at the Newmarch House Aged Care Facility in Caddens, and has become the seventh resident to pass away at that facility.

There are now 54 confirmed cases linked with the facility, including 20 staff members and 34 residents.

It’s understood the state as a whole has now recorded 37 deaths.

Meantime, New South Wales officials have confirmed that another five cases of the virus have been diagnosed overnight and over 4,000 tests were carried out.
