Queensland authorities are hoping toxicology test results will reveal the ingredients of a mystery hallucinogenic drug that led to the hospitalisation of 16 Gold Coast partygoers.
Police and paramedics were called to a number of addresses across the coast on both Friday and Saturday nights to reports of bizzare reactions from an illicit drug.
Eight patients on each night were reportedly aggressive, non-compliant and dangerous, according to the Queensland Ambulance Service.

Police say the incidents were a great drain on police and health resources, and there are concerns for up and coming Gold Coast events – Schoolies Week and the Castrol Gold Coast 600.
