The family of Swedish DJ Avicii have issued a statement regarding the musician’s sudden death last week.
The 28-year-old, whose real name is Tim Bergling, was found dead in Muscat, Oman on April 20.
In a statement released overnight, his parents hinted the superstar DJ had taken his own life.

“He really struggled with thoughts about Meaning, Life, Happiness. He could not go on any longer. He wanted to find peace,” the statement read.
“Tim was not made for the machinery he ended up in; he was a sensitive guy who loved his fans, but shunned the spotlight.”
Avicii announced in 2016 he was retiring from touring for health reasons, but kept making music and was nominated for a Billboard music award the week before he passed away.
