Baby and 7yo girl latest to be diagnosed with COVID-19 in New South Wales

A two-month-old boy and a seven-year-old girl are the first two confirmed cases under the age of ten to be diagnosed with coronavirus.

The separate cases were both diagnosed after having close contact with an infected adult.

Overnight, another 211 cases were confirmed, bringing the state’s total to 1,029.

It’s understood around 500 of those cases are overseas return travellers, while around 250 cases were locally acquired, likely from close contact with a confirmed case.

Of the cases, the first two cases of children under the age of ten have emerged.

It’s understood he’s only shown minor symptoms at the moment.

A seven-year-old girl has also been diagnosed, after having close contact with a confirmed case as well.
