Baby boy airlifted after falling into open fire near Fraser Island

A baby boy has been airlifted to a Brisbane hospital after he fell into an open fire at a camping spot near Fraser Island on Sunday.

Paramedics were called to Inskip Point at around lunchtime, they found a boy with burns to his left arm and say he was “distressed”.

He and his mother were flown in the LifeFlight Rescue Helicopter to Gympie Hospital, they were later transferred to Brisbane’s Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital on Sunday night.

The boy is in a stable condition.
