Baby boy in serious condition after pulled from water in Surfers Paradise

A baby boy is in a serious condition in hospital this morning after a horror near drowning incident on the Gold Coast last night.

Emergency services were called to a location near Budd’s Beach in Surfers Paradise just after 5.30 pm in what paramedics report was a ‘post immersion’ incident.

Paramedics, including critical care, assessed an infant boy briefly at the scene before taking him to hospital for further treatment.


He’s currently in the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition.

Specific details about his injuries were not provided by Queensland Ambulance Service.

Police were not made aware of the incident.
