A NEWBORN baby boy is fighting for life in hospital after being assaulted, allegedly by his father at a home in Perth.
The infant, just seven-weeks-old, reportedly remains in Perth’s Children’s Hospital, five weeks after the alleged attack at Hamersley, in Perth’s northwest, on August 10.

Police allege the 25-year-old was home alone with the newborn when the infant sustained life-threatening injuries.
Paramedics were called to the property and rushed the baby to hospital in a critical condition.
He remains there today, receiving treatment, according to Channel Nine.
Child Abuse Squad detectives have since charged the 25-year-old man with aggravated grievous bodily harm.
He is due to appear in Joondalup Magistrates Court on October 19.
