Baby girl killed after getting hit by 4WD

A baby girl has tragically died after she was hit by a 4WD in a driveway yesterday.

It’s understood she was struck by a Toyota Hilux in the driveway of a property in Enfield Street in Corowa – around 60km west of Albury – around 5.00pm.

Emergency services rushed to the scene, but despite desperate attempts, the 20-month-old infant could not be saved.

The driver of the vehicle, a 74-year-old man, was arrested and taken to hospital for mandatory testing.

He’s since been released pending further investigations.

A report will be prepared for the coroner, while specialist forensic police are continuing investigations.
