Baby whale beached on Sunshine Coast
A rescue effort is underway to save a newborn humpback whale that has beached itself on the Sunshine Coast.
The 2.5 metre calf washed ashore at Warana Beach at around 6:00am this morning.
The ABC reports 20 rescuers have managed to dig a hole and use buckets of water to partially submerge the whale.
Experts from Seaworld are making their way up to Warana Beach to see if the calf can be saved.
