Baby whale freed after becoming stuck in Gold Coast shark net
UPDATE @ 8.15 AM |Â A juvenile whale has been set free after becoming entangled in shark nets at Greenmount Beach.
The distressed Humpback whale calf was spotted struggling in the water around 6.00am Tuesday.
After an hour-long rescue mission, Sea World crews managed to successfully cut the mammal free from the nets.
EARLIER @ 7.35 AM | RESCUE crews are desperately working to free a juvenile whale stuck in a shark net off Coolangatta on the Gold Coast.
The distressed mammal was spotted struggling in the water around 6.00am.
Live vision of the trapped animal has been posted to social media by Channel Seven’s Sunrise.
It shows Sea World crews in an inflatable rescue boat attempting to remove the net from the whale’s body.
