MICK Fanning and Joel Parkinson have bungled out of the Hurley Pro at Trestles in California this morning.
Fanning was first up against Jordy Smith in the opening quarter final clash.
The South African doing enough to sour Fanning’s hopes of back-to-back World Championship Titles, securing a two wave total of 15.87.

Fanning was able to score a high wave score of 8.70 but could only back it up with a 4.83.
Things didn’t get much better for Parkinson, who had to come up against 11-time World Champion Kelly Slater in the final quarter final.
In true Slater fashion, he scored a top wave score of 9.37 and backed it up with a 6.50 to grab a total of 15.87 and leaving Parkinson in a comination situation.
Parkinson only managing a 11.33.
Better news for fellow Australian Ace Buchan who’s now taken to the water for the first semi final clash against Jordy Smith.
Kelly Slater will battle it out with the in form John John Florence, who stunned the surfing world by scoring five 9 point rides in his clash yesterday.
A winner is likely to be decided today.
