Balance has won the Sydney to Hobart yacht race handicap honours, with challenger Quikpoint Azzurro failing to reach the finish before the deadline.
Quikpoint Azzurro had until 4:43am on Thursday to finish, the yacht made its way up the River Derwent after a slow night and crossed the line at 7:21am.
French boat Courrier Leon will claim second place handicap honours ahead of Quikpoint Azzurro in third.

The Balance crew have been presented with the cup at Constitution Dock in Hobart.
Balance was the seventh yacht to finish the race, after US supermaxi Comanche claimed line honours on Monday night.
