A man’s been extradited from Queensland to face court, over the alleged historical rape of a student in Ballina.
It’s alleged the former teacher sexually assaulted a female student between the ages of 13 to 16 between 1981 and 1983.
The 66-year-old was arrested in Morayfield on Tuesday following extensive investigations by NSW Police.

He then fronted Pine Rivers Magistrates Court where NSW police successfully applied for his extradition back over the border.
The man arrived at Lismore Police Station yesterday, where he was officially charged with 11 counts of sexual assault.
The charges are under category three; person under 16 years of age and carnal knowledge teacher of girl aged more than 10 and less than 17 years.
He is due to appear at Lismore Local Court today (Thursday 27 May 2021).
