Bikie charged over violent attack at Gold Coast shopping centre

A BANDIDO bikie has been arrested and charged after allegedly attacking and threatening to stab another man in the middle of a shopping centre on the Gold Coast.

The 48-year-old is alleged to have punched a 29-year-old man in the face before pretending to be armed and threatening to stab him in the middle of Pacific Fair on May 4.

Following investigations, detectives from the city’s anti-bikie taskforce arrested the gang member during a raid on a house on Coolabah Crescent in Robina around 9am on Sunday.

The member of the Bandidos Outlaw Motorcycle Gang has since been charged with one count each of assault occasioning bodily harm whilst pretending to be armed and wilful damage.

The 48-year-old Robina man was also charged with unlawful possession of a dangerous drug (methylamphetamine) and possession of a drug utensil following Sunday’s raid.

He was denied police bail and will appear in Southport Magistrates Court tomorrow.
