Barbaro’s van spotted as nationwide manhunt continues

There’s been a potential breakthrough in the nationwide search for a Gold Coast member of a notorious crime family.

Ricardo Barbaro is wanted over the suspected murder of a his girlfriend Ellie Price in Melbourne.

The body of the 26-year-old was found in her Park Street apartment last Monday after officers were called to the home to conduct a welfare check.


Police said that Ms Price appeared to have suffered a “significant assault”.

Barbaro’s last known address was in Southport, on the Gold Coast, however detectives said he is known to frequent the northwest and western suburbs of Melbourne.

Ms Price’s missing Mercedes was found on Friday May 8, though there’s been another breakthrough today, with a reported sighting of Barbaro’s van.

It’s been spotted in Victoria, though authorities are still yet to track him down.

Barbaro is described as being approximately 185cm tall with a solid build, black hair and olive complexion.

Detectives are calling on him to come forward, and have warned anyone harbouring or assisting him that they could face criminal prosecution.
