Gold Coast set for more dangerous surf

UPDATE: DANGEROUS surf conditions are set to return to the Gold Coast on Wednesday, according to a Bureau Of Meteorology forecast.

Swell is expected to reach two to three metres, meaning some beaches could be closed.  Waves will be bigger further off shore.

Forecaster Mark Trinorton said another low pressure system is expected to develop late tonight.

A strong wind warning also remains in place.  Mr Trinorton added “we are expecting north westerly winds to increase as the day progresses”.  Tomorrow we will see south westerlies at 20 to 30 knots.

The forecast for Thursday will be similar.

Tuesday will be the warmest day of the week, with the mercury set to hit 29 in Coomera and Nerang.  On Wednesday we can expect tops of 23.
