A Queensland man who tortured and killed his baby son has been sentenced to serve a minimum of six years in jail.
The 29-year-old, who pleaded guilty to torture and manslaughter charges, appeared in Brisbane’s Supreme Court on Thursday morning.
The court heard how the man had burned his 13-month-old son’s foot on the kitchen stove after throwing him into a wall at a house in Beenleigh on December 28, 2012.

It was the first time the man had been given custody of his son. He had been awarded temporary custody for two days.
The toddler suffered severe head injuries and died in hospital on December 30 after his life-support was switched off.
The man, who has been in prison on remand, was sentenced to eight years jail on Thursday morning, six of which he will serve before being eligible for parole.
