A critical care nurse at the Gold Coast University Hospital has won 1029 Hot Tomato’s Gold Coast Nursing Award for October.
Ben Bidgood has been a nurse for 18 years, and has spent the last two and half years working with high dependancy patients in emergency and ICU.
Mr Bidgood told myGC he absolutely loves his job and couldn’t imagine doing anything else.

“To be able to give back to the community is so satisfying,” he said.
“Of course it has its moments, but overall it is such a rewarding career with so many options and opportunities.”
Mr Bidgood said he was absolutely thrilled to take home the award.
“It’s so fantastic that Hot Tomato runs these awards and represents nurses in this way. It’s really nice to receive the recognition and support.”
Along with a certificate, Ben wins $250 and is now a finalist in the Annual Awards where he could be awarded the annual winner’s cash prize of $5,000.
