Ben Noonan wins Coastal Dental Care Gives Back to Volunteers competition

A paraplegic volunteer who dedicates his time to sharing his passion for sailing and basketball with the Gold Coast Community has won $1000 thanks to Coastal Dental Care.

Ben Noonan was shocked to learn he had scored the cash prize after being nominated on the website for the Coastal Dental Care Gives Back To Volunteers competition.

“I cant believe it,” he told myGC.

“As a volunteer, you don’t expect to get recognised, but thank you so much, this is awesome!”

Ben is vice-president of Sailability Runaway Bay – a volunteer organisation that assists people of all-abilities to get into sailing.

“I love being connected to the community and giving back,” he said.

“It’s so rewarding to see how much happiness you can bring to someone when you take them out for a sail on the Broadwater. There’s nothing like it.”

Ben also plays wheelchair basketball and volunteers his time to help run the Roller Blaze Wheel Chair Basketball club.

“I also love sharing my passion for basketball with students. We take the wheel chairs out to schools so students can experience just how quick they can maneuver around the court.”
