Beyonce confirms role in Disney’s live-action remake of ‘The Lion King’

Beyonce has announced she has been cast in the live-action adaptation of The Lion King.

On Facebook today, Queen Bey confirmed she will voice the role of Nala in the Disney classic.

The cast also includes Donald Glover as Simba, James Earl Jones as Mufasa (reprising his role from the 1994 original), Chiwetel Ejiofor as Scar, Alfre Woodard as Simba’s mother Sarabi, John Oliver as Zazu, John Kani as Rafiki, Seth Rogen as Pumbaa and Billy Eichner as Timon.

JD McCrary and Shahadi Wright Joseph have been cast as young Simba and young Nala, respectively.

The live-action version of The Lion King is set to be released in July 2019, 25 years after the original cartoon movie was released.
