BHP move could cost Australia $2.5 billion

An American Hedge fund is reportedly trying to convince BHP shareholders to de-list the mining company from the Australian Stock exchange.

News Corp reports Treasurer Scott Morrison has stepped in, declaring the move is against the national interest.

Last year B-H-P paid two-point-five billion dollars in tax, money that would be lost if the company was listed only on the London Stock exchange
