Big Day Out headliner clash

Big Day Out organizers are copping the wrath of unhappy ticket holders, after announcing the festival timetables.

People took to social media overnight, angry over clashes between the headliners, flying in the face of a promise by organizers last August, reports Brisbane Times.

Most of the flack was directed at the clash in sets between headliners Pearl Jam and alternative metal rockers Deftones, US rapper Snoop Dogg (aka Snoop Lion) and DJ collective Major Lazer.

One festival-goer wrote on the BDO Facebook page: “I’m trying not to complain about clashes because you know it’s a festival it happens but what is the point of booking Deftones if you put them on at the same time as Pearl Jam?”

Metricon Stadium and Carrara Parklands will host the Gold Coast stop on January 19.

According to the event website, Pearl Jam will close the Blue Stage at the local festival, playing from 7.45-10pm. The Deftones are on the JBL Essential Stage from 9.15-10.15pm and Snoop Dog/Lion will do his set on the Red Stage from 8-9pm followed by Major Lazer (9.30-10.45pm).
