Big names return in Socceroos’ squad announced for World Cup Qualifiers

Key players Tom Rogic, Massimo Luongo and Robbie Kruse will return to the Socceroos squad for the 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Bangladesh and Tajikistan.

Rogic has battled with a persistent groin issue which held him back from involvement in Australia’s Brazil World Cup campaign and also this year’s Asian Cup.

However, his inclusion paired with recalls for Kruse and Luongo means Postecoglou is now littered with attacking options.

Rogic, 22, has not played for Australia since their loss in a friendly against Ecuador over a year ago, but the nine-cap midfielder is well prepped after a stunning start to the Scottish Premier League season.

Kruse has not represented his nation since a recurrence of his troublesome knee injury in last year’s Asian Cup final triumph.

Postecoglou has sprung a couple of surprises in a otherwise routine squad with goalkeeper Alex Cisak and midfielder Jackson Irvine named.
