Bill Cosby ordered to stand trial for sexual assault

Bill Cosby has been ordered to stand trial for a sexual assault case dating back to 2004.

The 78-year-old entertainer was charged in December with drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand, a Temple University staff member, at his Philadelphia home in 2004.

Following a hearing on Tuesday, Pennsylvania judge Elizabeth A. McHugh ruled there was enough evidence to proceed with a criminal trial.

If convicted Cosby could face up to 10 years in jail.

Constand was the first of more than 50 women who have accused Cosby of sexual misconduct, however this is the only case that has gone to court.
