Boat goes up in flames at Runaway Bay

Firefights, Water Police and paramedics are at the scene of a boat fire at the Runaway Bay Marina.

Emergency crews arrived around 4.20pm on Monday to find the 25ft vessel engulfed in flames and sending thick plumes of black smoke high into the air.

The boat, believed to be a Bertram, was about 10 metres off shore at the time.

Fire crews moved the boat back on shore and spent 30 minutes bringing the blaze under control.

They continued working for another 30 minutes to completely extinguish the fire.

There are no reports of any injuries but Paramedics are standing by.
