Bodies found washed up on Bribie Island beach
Mystery surrounds the death of a man and woman on Bribie Island, north east of Brisbane.
The two bodies were discovered by a passerby, washed up on a beach on the northern tip of the island just after 8am on Saturday, with a jet ski nearby.
Investigations are underway to determine whether the vessel belongs to the man and woman.
Water police, detectives and scenes of crime officers have travelled to the island and a crime scene has been established.
Police are appealing for information from the public as to the identity of the man and woman, who are believed to be in their 30s or 40s.
In a statement, Police said they are particularly interested in “anyone (who) has not returned or may have been travelling to or from Bribie Island”.
Investigations are continuing to determine the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
