UPDATE: A friend of Queensland teenager Jayde Kendall has been charged over her murder and will appear in a Brisbane court on Friday.
The 18-year-old was charged on Thursday night with murder and misconduct with a corpse by interfering after missing teenager’s body was found in a rural area about 17km from Gatton where Jayde lived.
Jayde was last seen getting into the man’s car outside Lockyer District High School two weeks ago.

He was initially questioned and released but was taken into custody after her body was located on Thursday night.
Police couldn’t corroborate the suspects story that he picked Jayde up, but later dropped her off safe and well.
The man is due to appear at Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday.
EARLIER: POLICE have confirmed that a body found in a field at Upper Tenthill, about 17 kilometres from Gatton is missing Queensland teenager Jayde Kendall.
Police have arrested an 18-year-old man who is assisting police with their enquiries.
He is expected to be charged with her murder.

They say the body of a teenage girl has been located at Upper Tenthill, about 17 kilometres from Gatton where Jayde was last seen on August 14.
Jayde was last seen getting into a red car outside Lockyer District High School almost two weeks ago.
Police questioned the 18-year-old male driver at length after her disappearance but can’t confirm reports the driver has been arrested and is going to be charged with murder.
