A crime scene has been declared after the body of a man was found inside a house destroyed by fire in Maryborough.
Emergency crews were called to Garden Street just before 8.00am on Thursday, following reports a home was fully engulfed in flames.
Fire crews desperately worked to douse the flames, but it was too late, with the roof of the home caving in.

Sadly, a person was located inside the property a short time later and pronounced deceased.
Police say formal identification is yet to be completed.
Investigators are currently on scene working to determine the cause of the blaze, with detectives appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
