Body of man found in Hawkesbury River

The body of a man has been discovered in the Hawkesbury River following a desperate search overnight.

About 5.30pm yesterday Wednesday 25 November 2015, emergency services were contacted following reports a man was seen to dive into the Hawkesbury River near Wilberforce Road.

Police were told that a man was seen to enter the river but got into difficulties and disappeared from view.


A search was set up at the location with local police, State Emergency Service volunteers, PolAir and police divers searching the river and surrounds for the man.

About 11.10pm, police divers located the body of a 33-year-old man in the river south of the Windsor Bridge.

The man’s family has been notified and a report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
