Body of third man found in NSW beach tragedy

THE body of a third man swept out to sea on the NSW mid-north coast earlier this week has been found.

A fishing boat in the ocean near Point Plumber discovered the body of the missing 27-year-old about 12.00pm yesterday, following several days of searching.

The man was one of six people who came into trouble whilst swimming at Moonee Beach, north of Coffs Harbour, around 6.15pm on Monday.


Three teenagers, aged 13, 15, and 17, were rescued from the dangerous surf, however sadly, the three men drowned.

The bodies of the two other men, aged 35 and 45, were pulled from the water following the tragedy on Monday evening.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
